Why can checkout totals change?
Authoritative totals can change when shipping, tax, discounts or inventory are recalculated for the actual checkout session.
Can payment providers change?
Yes. The payment service is intentionally abstracted so a supported provider can be replaced without redesigning the checkout UI.
